Course Description: A relaxed and open minded course, suitable for all levels. The focus is on improving creativity as well as paint handling skills, and with a freedom to try out other mediums alongside watercolour.
Each term will build on the individual learner’s knowledge of water based media and watercolour techniques. He/she will gain an understanding of the creative process through a combination of group exercises, individual projects and personal development tutorials. By the end of the course students will have an improved knowledge of watercolour techniques, colour theory and mixing, painting materials, art appreciation, creativity, composition and sketching skills.

Course Description: The course will cover drawing and perspective, colour mixing and using watercolour to create luminous effects, wet on wet, experimental techniques for backgrounds and choosing the right materials. Our topics will cover flowers, still life, portraits, landscape and figures in the landscape and abstract, students can choose to specialize in one area. Assessment will be ongoing through the course, through individual help and group discussion at the end of the session. The course aims to be inspiring, challenging and fun. Please bring pencils and sketch paper for the first class, further materials will be recommended at the first session.
