Students wishing to only pursue watercolour may do so. Those wishing to use pen and ink, gouache, collage or whatever combined with watercolour or indeed separately are also welcome. Course Description: The Essence of watercolour technique taught through practical and simple progressive stages. Leading to a basic grasp of fundamental treatments of this fine media. Underpinned by rigorous drawing from life wherever possible. Outside drawing study will be undertaken and translated into painting in the studio. Students will be taken to study landscape, trees and plant form as well as some of the minutiae of nature. Still life will be available and occasionally a costume model. The course is designed to offer the basics and to encourage and build confidence through strong teaching and guidance.
