Travelling Sketch Book

Spend an exciting week sketching in and around the Beaconsfield area, in your own hardbound sketchbook, which will be supplied.
The week starts lunchtime Monday and finishes lunchtime Friday. Barry will guide you through the sketching processes as you tackle a wealth of different subjects in your sketchbooks. Any sketching mediums are welcome, watercolour, pastel, coloured pencils, acrylics, charcoal & graphite, in fact anything that makes a mark and is easily transportable! Barry will work mainly in watercolour, line and wash but will give guidance in any medium.

The beautiful Beaconsfield area has much to offer, we will start your week with a tour of Beaconsfield Old Town, a historic, market town, guided by our very own Town Crier, Dick Smith. On Tuesday enjoy a trip to the picturesque town of Marlow on the River Thames to study the lock and weir with lunch at Marlows oldest pub, Two Brewers. The next day you will visit Amersham and have lunch at the 17 century pub, Elephant & Castle. Thursday will be spent at West Wycombe Park studying one of the most theatrical and Italianate mid-18th century buildings in England, set in Georgian English landscaped gardens with a nine-acre man-made lake in the form of a swan. Friday will be a day back in Beaconsfield to complete your exciting adventure.

Students should bring the sketching medium of their choice, watercolour, pastel, coloured pencils, acrylics, charcoal & graphite, in fact anything that makes a mark and is easily transportable! The workshop fee includes an 8 x 8″ Hardbound Sketchbook with 95 pages of sized cartridge paper, just perfect for water mediums, and with that number of pages you can afford to sketch and doodle to your hearts content!
