Course description
Creating Art in the Style of Great Artists – Through individual guidance from the teacher, the children will practice their drawing and painting skills. This term we will explore Japanese Art. Painting has been the preferred form of artistic expression in Japan and Japanese artists have developed various styles along the years, including the sumi-e (ink wash painting) and ukiyo-e (a genre of woodblock prints and paintings) styles, which the children will try through the individual guidance from the teacher. We will look at 5 of the greatest painters of Japan from early fifteenth century, to Takashi Murakami of present age and create the art projects based on their masterpieces.
