ABOUT THIS WORKSHOP
Day 1 – Dorney Court Kitchen Garden, Dorney
We will be visiting a unique and innovative garden destination, featuring a traditional walled kitchen garden with strong links to its horticultural past, records suggest that the walled garden was where Rose, the Palmer Family’s Head Gardener, cultivated the first pineapple to be grown in England during the mid-seventeenth century! The walled garden is an inspiring space with ivy-clad walls and terracotta brickwork surrounding plots of vegetables, manicured lawns and beautiful topiary. There is a cafe and toilets within the grounds, lunch will be provided.
Day 2 – Bourne End Marina, waterfront along the Thames
We will be down along the Thames at the picturesque village of Bourne End, with its marina, waterside buildings and a boat or two if that is your thing!
Lunch will be provided and toilets are available.
Day 3 – a morning at the artsmart Beaconsfield Studio
We will spend our last session together at the Beaconsfield artsmart Studio, in the historic Beaconsfield Old Town. We will concentrate on completing our paintings and sketches with expert and always friendly tuition from Barry.
This is sure to be a fun filled 3 day workshop, in beautiful surroundings of Buckinghamshire.
GENERAL INFORMATION
Students should bring the sketching medium of their choice, watercolour, pastel, coloured pencils, acrylics, charcoal & graphite, in fact anything that makes a mark and is easily transportable plus a chair and easel if you use them as they are not provided. The workshop fee includes lunch for the 2 days ‘en plain air’, and an 8 x 8″ Hardbound Sketchbook with 95 pages of sized cartridge paper, just perfect for water mediums, and with that number of pages you can afford to sketch and doodle to your hearts content!
