ABOUT THIS WORKSHOP
Theme – Karel Appel Mixed Media Collage
Karel Appel (1921- 2006) Dutch painter, sculptor and graphic artist and founding member of the CoBrA movement (active 1948-1951) a short lived but influential artist collective formed in Paris. It emphasized spontaneity, experimentation and a childlike aesthetic in a reaction against the constraints of traditional art forms.
The children will work on canvas boards using glue guns, balsa wood and cardboard to create their mixed media collage and a mixture of gouache and acrylic paint. Touching on use of colour relationships, composition and problem solving .

Bring an apron, a snack & drink, there will be a short break during the morning. All materials are provided.
