“When you can Draw you are always an Artist”
Thought to have been said by the Artist Ingres…all you need is something to draw with and something to draw on.
Drawing for Beginners
This course aims to provide a supportive place in which you can learn the basic principles of drawing using pencil and charcoal. The course consists of a series of projects to take you through traditional drawing techniques, such as: linear drawing, tonal drawing, and mark making. Various drawing systems will be referred to including: composition, proportion, perspective and negative space. You will also have the opportunity to explore different ways of seeing and recording.
There will be reference to other Artists’ work to inspire and encourage ideas.
During the course, the tutor will provide small group demonstrations and individual support to ensure the student can work at their own level and pace.
The course is for complete beginners, or those returning to art after a break, who would like to refresh their skills.
