ABOUT THIS WORKSHOP

If you like “Impressionism” and always wanted to create an art work of your own in this style in oil or acrylic then this workshop is for you. Over the three days there will be tutor demonstrations, an introduction to the insight of the movement, an opportunity to copy a selected work by an impressionist and create one of your own on each day.
Day One – Use of Alla Prima Technique
Day Two – Painting with a Palette Knife
Day Three – “Impasto”

Materials to bring: You will need a selection of appropriate brushes together with two or three different shaped palette knives (the actual shape is less important than having a variety to choose from)
Paint – Colours should include: Titanium or Zinc White, Lemon Yellow, Cadmium Orange, Cobalt Violet, Cobalt Blue, Raw Umber, Yellow Ochre, Alizarin Crimson, Burnt Sienna, Ultramarine and Viridian Green.
Surface – If you are using canvas, canvas board or canvas paper 16 x 20 (40 x 50 cm) or slightly smaller is a good size.  If you are using paper you will also need masking tape.
Plus Turpentine and /or Linseed Oil (liquidised)
