Summer Landscapes in Acrylic

ABOUT THIS WORKSHOP
This is a two day course that will show you how to paint impressionistic style summer landscapes and seascapes with acrylic paint. Using photographs supplied you will be shown how to mix summer greens, blue seas and sunshine using the versatile and user friendly medium of acrylic. No previous experience needed as your tutor will demonstrate each step and will provide many hints and tips to help you produce a couple of paintings.

GENERAL INFORMATION
Tools and materials needed for the course:
Surface to paint on: either Acrylic paper, canvas or canvas board or Watercolour paper 140lb ‘Not’ (cold pressed) surface (standard Bockingford is ideal), at least ¼ imperial (11 x 15 inches) or A3. If bringing sheets then you will need a board to tape it to (not necessary if bringing a pad)
Paint: Acrylic tubes or pots – Ultramarine Blue, Burnt Sienna or Burnt Umber, Raw Sienna, Cadmium Yellow, Titanium white, I recommend Daler Rowney System 3 or Winsor Newton Galleria, these are students range of paint therefore you shouldn’t need to pay any more than £4-£5 for a 75ml tube
Brushes: Acrylic brushes vary in size depending on manufacturer, so a size 8 from one manufacturer could be a completely different size in another so I have given sizes as the width of the group of hairs on the brush: 1 x ¼ inch wide round acrylic or oil painting brush, 1 x ½ inch wide round acrylic or oil painting brush, 1 x size 4 round watercolour brush, 1 x palette knife
Other materials: Palette to mix paint on such as a tear off paper palette or a few paper plates, tissues or rag, 2B pencil, water container, an old shirt to wear when painting.
You are welcome to bring other tools and materials such as different colours, paper, brushes etc. that you are familiar with.
