ABOUT THIS WORKSHOP
Spend an exciting week sketching in and around the Beaconsfield area, in your hardbound sketchbook, which will be supplied.
The week starts lunchtime Monday and finishes lunchtime Friday. Barry will guide you through the sketching processes as you tackle a wealth of different subjects in your sketchbooks. Any sketching mediums are welcome, watercolour, pastel, coloured pencils, acrylics, charcoal & graphite, in fact anything that makes a mark and is easily transportable! Barry will work mainly in watercolour and line & wash, but will give guidance in any medium.

The beautiful, historic Beaconsfield Old Town, has much to offer, this is where you will start your week of sketching. Day two will be a little further out of town with a visit to Chiltern Open Air Museum, an outdoor ‘living’ museum with over 30 rescued and reconstructed historic buildings from the Chilterns, an entire working farm and dig for victory allotment and orchard, plenty of visual inspiration to keep you busy. Day three will be a day spent in the pretty ‘chocolate box’ village of Turville, famed for it’s use in The Vicar of Dibley amongst other TV appearances. Overlooking the village is Cobstone Windmill, perched high on the hill, used in Chitty Chitty Bang Bang, will add a challenge to your day of sketching.
Day four is a day out in Cookham Village, situated on the River Thames, giving you the opportunity to sketch water capturing reflections, light and dark, moving water and still. This is sure to be an exciting week of exploration!
(Order of trips may be different to the above listing)
